In the wake of modern warnings to care for our planet, and moving towards a “Green” future, a small and secretive manufacturing company sits on the outskirts of a Norwegian village, pumping harmful chemicals into a nearby lake. Old Norse legends tell of serpents dwelling within these realms, enormous creatures that were to be both feared and respected. Perhaps one of these creatures still survived, giving rise to the numerous lake “sightings” over the past several hundred years. However, within these waters a tremendous accident occurred, a fluke in nature. The chemicals that normally deaden the land gave rise to something unexpected: life. Perhaps it was one of these “serpents” of old, or perhaps simply a fossil, but the chemicals reacted in a way no one could have predicted, forcing evolution to speed by at a blinding rate creating an all new, yet alien form of life. Lumbering out of the inland lake, DURONTUS makes its way westward towards the Americas, its intent unclear.
